My Week In A Nutshell

My Week In A Nutshell 2/14/16

Man, what an exhausting week. It seemed like Monday stretched all the way to Friday afternoon for me. The whole work environment thing hasn’t really improved so I think that contributes to why my weeks have been so hellish lately. I’m doing my best to be positive though, and not bring that crap home. As for the reading slump, I think I can say I made my way out of it. I’m still not pressuring myself to read a certain amount of books per week, and it’s working for me so far. I’m actually about 9 books ahead on my Goodreads Challenge at this point. Yay me! Ok, so here’s what happened this week.

Have you been watching The Shannara Chronicles? I’m totally hooked on it. I haven’t read the books yet, but I am planning on starting the series this year.

This week I got quite a bit of reading done. I actually made a big dent in my February TBR that I set for myself earlier this month. I’m surprised I didn’t stray too much from what I had planned since I’m a mood reader. I probably won’t post a full review for every single book I read this year, but I’m trying to put down some quick thoughts on Goodreads when I finish each book. We’ll see how well I keep up with that.

My favorite read this week was A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. It’s so beautifully written and filled with all the things I want in a fairy tale: magic, action, suspense, romance. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

My least favorite was 99 Days by Katie Cotugno. The main character Molly drove me crazy. She just kept going back and forth on her decisions. I wanted to shake her, slap some sense into her and yell at her to make a choice and stick with it.

That’s my week in a Nutshell! Have you read any of the books featured here in my post? How was your week? Let me know in the comments!

Stay book nerdy my friends! Happy reading 🙂
