Happy Monday Book Nerds! I know we still technically have one more day to go in this month, but I’m trying to stay on top of my updates and wrap-ups this year.  Fingers crossed I can manage to keep this up. So we are 1 month into 2017, this is usually where I start to slowly lose momentum on some of my goals. I either get bored or distracted and next thing I know I’m completely off track. Do you have that problem? How long do you usually stick with it?

I’m happy to say though, that I think I’ve done pretty good so far. The only time things got a bit off track was when I was sick. That’s ok though, because shit happens. Here is a quick little check up on how I’m doing with my goals.

Reading Goals:

  1. Read 1 Classic or Modern Classic book per month – Yes, my January classic was Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
  2. Read 30 books that I already own throughout the year (about 2-3 per month) – Yep, I read 6 books that I already owned.
  3. Read 6 Non-Fiction books during the year – I’m right on track with this one. I am halfway through my non-fiction pick for Jan/Feb.
  4. Get my Netgalley percentage up to 80% – Realistically this will take a bit to get to 80%, but I am remembering to cross post my reviews to NetGalley to help improve my percentage.
  5. Complete my Goodreads reading goal –  I’m currently 6 books ahead of schedule for my Goodreads reading goal for the year.

Blogging Goals:

  1. Write 3 book reviews per week – Not quite, but I’ve been doing pretty good about posting consistently not counting when I got sick.
  2. Participate in the Blog Ahead challenge – N/A this hasn’t started yet
  3. Set up a blogging schedule and stick with it – Yes, apart from when I got sick.
  4. Go to a bookish event (festival/book signing) and blog about it – None yet

Personal Goals:

  1. Be more active – Yes, I got a gym membership and go every other day.
  2. Keep bringing down my A1C – Along with being more active I am also watching my numbers by monitoring my blood sugar throughout the day. I’m also eating low sugar/low carb.
  3. Be more organized – Yep, I keep a bullet journal and stay organized that way.
  4. Participate in NaNoWriMo – Not until Nov
  5. Take a class (any class) at my local community college – I have registered for the Fall semester so this is a goal I will tackle in August.

That’s it for my update. I’m pretty happy with my progress so far. I know there are things I can improve on so I will try to work on them in February. What about you? Are you participating in the challenge? How are you doing with your goals so far? Let’s chat down in the comments!

Happy Reading!
