Goodreads Challenge Q1 Check-in

Hi book nerds! Today I wanted to do a quick check-in to let you know where I am at on my Goodreads challenge this year.  Now I know there are mixed feelings in the book community about the Goodreads challenge. Personally, it has never stressed me out or taken away from my reading experience. I find it to be a fun and useful way of tracking my reading on a yearly basis. Which is why I will continue to participate in this challenge regardless of its popularity. This year I decided I would share my progress on this challenge on a quarterly basis with you here on the blog.

Before I get into my breakdown of what I’ve read so far this year let me start by saying I don’t set a specific or hard set goal of how many books to read in a quarter. I’m a mood reader and I tend to binge book reading like some people binge Netflix shows. Reading is by far my primary form of relaxation and stress relief. Second preferred method would be playing games on my phone or Switch. That said I read a lot of things. I don’t stick to one genre and I read multiple books at once. I usually have an eBook, audio book, and physical book going at all times. I’m pretty sure that is why I tend to read as much as I do. I always have a book with me in one form or another and reading is a huge priority for me. I try to get in at the minimum 30 minutes of reading time everyday. It really does help with my stress and anxiety. All of that said, let’s get into my stats for the first quarter of 2018.

Total Books Read: 46 ( I am currently 22 books ahead of schedule)

5 Stars:

4 Stars:

3 Stars:

2 Stars:

1 Star:

As you can see the majority of the books I read were either a 3 or 4 star rating so I would say I’ve had a pretty solid reading year so far. I’m looking forward to seeing how my stats will change after Q2. I’m hoping I will see the majority of the books I read shift towards 4 or 5 star reads. We shall see.

Let me know down below in the comments how your reading is going so far in 2018. Also, if you read any of the books in the post let’s chat about them down below.

As always keep on reading and stay book nerdy my friends!
