Reading Challenges

N.E.W.T.S. | Week Two Update

Hey book nerds! I wanted to check in and let you know how my second week of the N.E.W.T.S. went. My work week was insanely busy but thanks again to audio-books I was able to stay on top of my reading goals. Here are the N.E.W.T.S. challenges I have completed and the ones I’m currently working on.

week 2

  1. The Other Woman by Sandie Jones (ARC) – This one was a disappointment. My review will be going up soon.
  2. In A Dark Dark Wood by Ruth Ware (Physical Book) – I really loved this one up until the end. My review will be going up soon.
  3. Giant Days Vol. 4 (Hoopla) – I love this graphic novel series so much. The art work is so colorful and the story line is entertaining.

  1. Giant Days Vol. 6 (Hoopla) – Again love love love this graphic novel series.
  2. Giant Days Vol. 7 (Hoopla) – see above
  3. The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur (eBook) – Although I connected with Kaur’s poems about introverts and depression, I found this collection very repetitive and boring. It just felt like a repeat of Milk and Honey which I was not a fan of to begin with either.

History of Magic:

  1. Short Stories from Hogwarts; of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists by J.K. Rowling (eBook) – I enjoyed this glimpse back into the world of Hogwarts. It’s a collection of back stories into characters in the Harry Potter world. Some I enjoyed more than others, but overall it was a fun and quick read.

That’s where I ended this week as far as my N.E.W.T.S. go. I’m hoping I can keep up this momentum going into week three. Wish me luck!
