Three Things I’d Like to Accomplish in Feb | It’s All About Taking Care of Me

Hi friends! Today I wanted to share my top three things I want to work on this month to take care of me. I have to confess that I haven’t been taking care of myself like I should. I was doing really well the beginning of last year and then stopped when my routine went to hell in March. I need to get back on track and I figure tracking my progress here is a great way to keep myself accountable.

This month I want to focus on getting back into the habit of doing things that were part of my daily routine before COVID-19 hit. The numbers here in AZ are still pretty bad with people just not following guidelines and the shortage of vaccines. So it looks like I’m not going back to the office anytime soon. I need to figure out a way to set a routine that works for me in this current “normal” that we are stuck in.

Here are the top three things I want to incorporate back into my life to help me build my new daily routine:

  • Track! Track! Track! Not just food by the way although I need to do that too. I stopped tracking my blood sugar and blood pressure which is a big fat no bueno! I need to get back into the habit of monitoring these which I’ll be doing in my bullet journal.
  • Get on a consistent sleep schedule. I have so much trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. I am going to set a notification to go to bed by 10pm and an alarm to wake myself up at 6am. I love sleeping in on weekends but it really messes up my sleep so I’m going to try and do this one the weekends as well.
  • Be Active. I was walking 5 miles 4 times a week before March 2020 hit and I have not been active at all. I feel the ache in my knees and pain in my back from not doing any activity. I feel like crap and I know if I just start walking again it will help me feel better. This month I want to do at least 30 minutes of cardio 4 days a week to get started. I’m going to work my way back up to my 5 mile power walks.

There are other things I’m working on as well that I’m tracking as habits in my bullet journal. These are just my top three goals that I want to focus on in Feb. I’ll be sure to do a check in post at the end of the month to let you know how I did.

  1. 1. Eat healthier because if I don’t my RA acts up.
    2. Walk 2 miles a day; light weights 3 times a week.
    3. Meditate each day for 15 minutes. I often don’t reach REM sleep and refuse medication. I’ve been tested numerous times. I average 4-5 hours if I’ m lucky. Some nights I only get 2-3 hours. Meditation helps me relax.
