Dead Girls Can’t Tell Secrets by Chelsea Ichaso | ARC Review

Title: Dead Girls Can’t Tell Secrets

Author: Chelsea Ichaso

How did I get it? I received a copy from Sourcebooks Fire via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

What’s it about? Savannah’s sister, Piper, has been in a coma due to injuries she suffered from a hiking accident. Savannah doesn’t think it was an accident or the attempted suicide that the police seem to have ruled the incident to be. Savannah decides to take it upon herself to find out what really happened to her sister so she infiltrates the survival group Piper had joined to investigate. Clues point to the suspected killer being a part of the group and Savannah has to find out who the killer is before she becomes the next victim.

Thoughts: This was a very tense and fast-paced read that had a lot of twists and turns to the plot that kept me guessing until the very end. There is quite a bit of teenage angst and drama in this one along with the mystery of the attempted murder. Savannah’s reckless approach to the investigation definitely increased the feeling of tension throughout the book. The ending did take me by surprise and my favorite part was that it kept me guessing until the very end. However, the path to that ending focused a bit too much on the relationships and teen drama along the way. I found it very distracting from the main plotline which was the mystery of who harmed Piper. Overall, I did quite enjoy this quick little read. I was fully invested in finding out about Piper’s past and who would want to harm her.

My Rating: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆

As always keep on reading and stay book nerdy my friends!
